Spring Bud, 6x6", oil on canvas, 2025.
The "Spring Bud" painting is a nod to the beauty of ikebana and springtime here in Seattle. It brought me peace and the feeling of warm sunshine when creating it. I hope it brings that same good feeling to others when they see it.

Entrance, 6x6", oil on canvas, 2025.
The gate in "Entrance" was referenced from a photograph I took of the torii gate at the entrance to Fushimi Inari in Kyoto just after sunrise. It’s one of the most incredible places I’ve hiked with its thousands of vermillion gates glowing in the morning sun.
This piece was also new for me in that the background is free and loose and painted quickly from imagination. I normally study still life set-ups very closely and try to replicate details with precision.
