Nature Shadows, Swallowtail butterfly on pink, framed to 8x10", ink and acrylic on film, 2022. The first image is shown in studio light. Below shows an example of the transparency of the flower in the sunlight.
The paintings in this collection were made in honor of the community garden p-patch that I tended to for years, and love & miss. My hands had to choose between gardening or artwork due to physical and time constraints. Painted with gratitude for the pollinators that help create sustenance for our bodies and make the world a more colorful place.
With the help of a local printer, I figured out how to reproduce these unique pieces, below. A limited edition print run of 50 prints are ready for sale. These come in the black metal frames with white mats as shown to give the prints just the right distance from the wall to create the butterfly's shadow on it. Click below to purchase via PayPal.
