Stuffed, oil on panel, 16x20", 2025.
I saw this jar of chili stuffed olives on a shelf at the grocery store and inspiration struck. The contrast, the shapes, the way the liquid distorts the shapes, the bright red lid... I loved everything about it and it seemed so big to me even though it's a small jar. Here it is posed in the July sun on my deck in all it's stuffed, salty, spicy glory. Olives are both a special childhood memory and something I still enjoy often.
