Passionflower, acrylic on board, 11x14", February 2022, me.
On one of our first dates, my husband took me on the Georgetown art walk. At some point we turned down the wrong street and found ourselves in a desolate urban area. There was this chain-link fence at the sidewalk surrounding a building. It was covered in a leafy vine and crazy looking tropical smelling flowers neither of us had ever seen before. We were both amazed by them and later found out what they were. I grow them on a trellis at our house now. This one in the painting was at the very top of the trellis, basking in the sun last summer. (Studying summery things helps me get through the Seattle winter!)
