On one of our first dates, my husband took me on the Georgetown art walk. At some point we turned down the wrong street and found ourselves in a desolate urban area. There was this chain-link fence at the sidewalk surrounding a building. It was covered in a leafy vine and crazy looking tropical smelling flowers neither of us had ever seen before. We were both amazed by them and later found out what they were. I grow them on a trellis at our house now. This one in the painting was at the very top of the trellis, basking in the sun last summer.
